Just a few weeks ago the Gallup organization reported a significant statistic. In the 80 years since they’ve been tracking religion in America, the number of people claiming membership in a house of worship (specifically churches, synagogues or mosques) has fallen below 50%. At the same time, the number of Americans claiming no religious affiliation at all, or who claim to be “spiritual but not religious” continues to rise at a rapid pace.
