Living a new story

How do we engage the challenges of our time without giving in to stories of anger, division, and despair? We tell a new story, one that helps us understand the past, respond to the present, and transform the future.

Welcome to New Story Spokane

We’re a local collaboration that’s inspiring change in the Inland Northwest by rejecting the old stories of fear, aggression, and violence, and embracing a new story of hope and love. Using a framework for sustainable prosperity, we’re working together to actively build a better community, for the good of people and the planet. These are the three parts of the new story framework:

Equity

Advocate for community, diversity, and fundamental human needs

Ecology

Preserve the planet through sustainable ecological practices

Economy

Pursue prosperity for all with fair and responsible economic practices

Support our work

Join us as we celebrate, nurture, and live out a new story vision.

  1. Join an event to practice common good.

  2. Join a porch circle to encourage and support each other.

  3. Support local projects like those of our endorsers practicing the new story.

  4. Make a tax-deductible donation to support our work. New Story Spokane is under the fiscal sponsorship of the Smith-Barbieri Progressive Fund as a non-profit 501(C)(3).

Thanks, Attendees and Contributors

May 19-20, we joined ordinary people – farmers, entrepreneurs, scientists, musicians, spiritual leaders, ecologists, and others doing extraordinary work in our community for the good of people and planet.
